Fallen

Fallen

Jazzi Mason, Senior Editor

As a star implodes,

A white path

looking into the eye of

God creating miracles

Wire pulling tight around

Squeezing coagulated ice

from the fingers

gripping at the sand the sole touches

________________________

Kerosene and alcohol on the chipping paint

falling away in

chunks of glass

that splinters as a

burdened cross expanding

against the blackened horizon

Sitting on

the nose of the

man of the moon hiding

What is not gleaming when the

tree of a puddle

is shifted away,

veins chiming in the movement of

purple and black gases of Pluto

________________________

Claws ripping up a mask, slanted by the pressure

of whips by chains on the wrists in the

tears of the universe locked in a weaving river

and no one cares that this story is falling apart

that they will breathe in the ashes of this life
