PREMIERE COAST-NORTH MATCH UP

Coming off a demoralizing loss against the Las Positas Hawks, The Foothill Owls Men’s Basketball team will attempt to recover while hosting the visiting San Francisco Rams on Friday night. This will be the second and final matchup between the two teams this season. The Rams, currently in first place, will attempt to maintain their conference lead while the Owls aim to gain ground. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

The Owls suffered a disheartening 80-77 loss to the Las Positas Hawks while on the road on Wednesday night.

MATCH UP AT A GLANCE

EARLIER THIS SEASON

The Owls lost this season’s first match up with the Rams, struggling to score in a 89-72 defeat, which resulted in the fourteenth of 16 straight wins for the Rams. The outcome of the away game in San Francisco was decided by a poor first half performance by the Owls, during which they were outscored by the Rams 45-24.

HOMESICK

The Owls will be looking to avenge their loss in their two game season series with the Rams for their fifth straight home game. Out of all the Coast-North Conference teams, the San Francisco Rams and the Las Positas Hawks are the only ones with more home victories than the Foothill Owls.

The Owls have yet to lose a game when the team fires on all cylinders and performs at their best. They have made at least half of their shots from the field in 5 out of their 6 home wins, and at least 35% from the 3 point line in all of their home wins. The Owls would love to have their high Octane offense deliver as they finish off a tough homestand that includes their next opponent, the San Francisco Rams and the Ohlone Renegade. With the Rams owning a road winning percentage of .92 and the Renegade .50, both are contenders that could cause the Owls to stumble.

SAN FRANCISCO RAMS SCOUTING REPORT

The rams enter Friday’s game against the Owls sitting at 23-1 on the season, in position to make the playoffs for the second straight year. Much of this is due to Terrell Brown, who is currently scoring 16.6 points per game while shooting 54.4% from the field and 50.4% from the 3 point line. The Rams are currently in the top 5 in points and assists and in the top 10 in rebounds.
