Earlier this month, on February 6th, a Rapid Response event was held in room 5015. The purpose behind the event was to inform college faculty and students of their rights to avoid contact with ICE agents, how to identify ICE agents, and who to contact when faced with ICE agents. The services from RRN also include having lawyers on standby to assist in the case of an ICE agent arresting you, a family member, a friend, or a bystander.
The photo gallery below includes students lining up outside of room 5015 in the rain, the speaker (Mariana Haro) who is from the Rapid Response Network in Santa Clara County, Mariana Haro talking about the Red Card (constitutional rights), Mariana Haro explaining how to identify ICE agents, and audience engagement.
