After last week’s campus wide meeting, Pacific Dining responded to concerns about early dining hall closures not servicing all students by officially announcing extended hours. Starting February 18th, Hilltop Grill will be open daily, Monday-Thursday, until 6:00 PM.
Pacific Dining directed the catalyst for this decision being “based entirely on ASFC/Staff feedback,” showcasing a refreshing responsiveness from a body that services students and faculty alike. They also examined student and class trends, and discovered that there is a second wave of students and classes that populate campus around 4-6 PM.
In addition to the extended hours, Pacific Dining is also providing additional services.
- New Menu Concept: 8 Dragons – Asian Inspired Cuisine
- Starbucks Drip Coffee
- Pho Special on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Cafe “Refresh”
- New lighting, new decor, and new signing including a “Hilltop Grill” decal posted at the entrance of the cafe
- Expanded High Quality Grab & Go Options
- Sandwiches, weekly specials, salads and more
Pacific Dining is also introducing a Health & Wellness Program at the Hilltop Grill;
“Fresh ingredients, healthy options, affordable, and delicious! This Health & Wellness Program will be rolled out in the coming months, and we hope to tie this with any college health initiatives. We are happy to reach out to The Script to help promote it when it is implemented.”
Similarly, KJ’s Cafe has also extended their hours to service later-staying students and faculty, pledging to continue staying open later as long as it continues to service enough students to stay worthwhile on the business end.
In a sign posted on all the KJ’s around campus, the hours were extended up until 7pm, and will be so until the end of the quarter.
The change was also based on student feedback, and suggested by Administration. There was a trial period to ensure its fiscal feasibility, and confirmed it was mutually beneficial for both the business and students alike.
Both of these changes are a welcome dedication towards serving all students on campus, and recognizing the versatility of schedules at Foothill.
